Andrew has had a long love affair with boats and the English Waterways, but his dream has always been to mix work with pleasure! During his life, he has worked for a prestigious boat builder, giving him the skills necessary to do a beautiful fit out on English Rose. For the past 10 years, he has been a site manager for a large building company. He is, therefore, in addition to being an excellent boat handler, a very handy person to have around! He has a wide-ranging knowledge of the Canal Systems and the history of English towns, and is always willing to share this knowledge with others.

Melanie has worked since leaving college in 1982 as a teacher of Modern Languages. She has taught French and Spanish in several different comprehensives in South Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire. However, since meeting Andrew and sharing his enthusiasm for boating, British wildlife and heritage, making a decision on a complete change of career was not a difficult one. During our cruises, she will do the majority of the cooking, as well as be on hand to operate the many locks and bridges on the way! (Also if you want to brush up on your French, this is the ideal opportunity!)

Together, we will work as a team to make your holiday as relaxed and stress free as we can. In our jobs, we have experienced stress on a daily basis, and know how relaxing the waterways are. Why not join us and find out for yourself?
